Pedro Gui
Brazilian
Having talent for the art of drawing and painting since he was 2. Today, Pedro Gui is an
example of a self-taught artist. Born on July 15, 2011, in Teresina-PI, Pedro Gui is
Piauí and Luso-Brazilian. The paternal grandfather is Portuguese and insisted that the grandson - an artist - also had the same nationality.
At the commencement of the pandemic, Gui started making portraits on canvas, as a
form of distraction. These pieces were published on social networks,
gaining prominence nationally, with the production of works in the Pop Art style.
Soon after, Pedro Gui participated in several interviews on the local, national and even international level.
One of the most celebrated occasions was on the program “Conversa com Bial”, on Rede Globo de Televisão, in which the artist Romero Britto participated, who has been inspiration for Piauí. In 3 years, he painted hundreds of canvases, and his works are in the homes of great Brazilian artists,
like Simone and Simaria, Carlinhos Maia, Mano Walter and also from Piauí, Whindersson
Nunes.
Currently, his international representation is based in New York via
Saphira & Ventura Gallery and the New York International Contemporary Art Society, having already exhibited
his works in Paris and preparing to participate as a child ambassador of the Bienal
Amazônia 2025, an initiative of the Instituto Bienal Amazônia that will be held during the COP
30 in Belém do Pará and other previews that will be held in New York, Rio de Janeiro, Cairo,
São Paulo and Manaus in 2024. Pedro currently divides his time with his studies, completing his sixth year of
primary school and dedication to his art, which he considers the best time of the day.
He already produces commissioned works, and has a vast following on social media,
which today adds up to 35,000+ followers.
