Peter Bynum
American
Peter Bynum is a New York-based painter best known for his light-infused paintings on glass. Biomorphic forms float on multiple layers of glass as light from a thin light panel infuses the paint, allowing us to visually swim through layers of ethereal imagery. The paintings bring us into an intimate relationship with the biological structure of our oneness, celebrating the ecstatic energy of the life-force and the interconnectedness of all life. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in Rome, Shanghai, Cologne, Basel, Singapore, New York and Miami, and is in over 80 public and private collections. New York’s Museum of Art & Design named him one of the most influential artists of the last half-century who works with glass. He will exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in late 2019.
