Peter Rogiers

Working with resin and cast aluminum, Peter Rogiers creates playful sculptures of biomorphic figures that appear to be engaged in monumental struggles. Rogiers’s labor-intensive works—some more abstract than others—are inspired by comics, films, and the dark world of children’s fairytales. His collection “Guitar solos in wicked nature seasons” (2010) features sculptures of bird-like figures—like his 2011 work The Yard—and vague human forms, as well as the artist’s explosive and dynamic mixed media works on paper.
