Hailing from a prominent Italian family, Priscilla Rattazzi has built a career as a fashion, portrait, and fine art photographer. Describing her early desire to pursue photography, she has said, “I wanted to be an artist but I couldn't paint. But I absolutely knew that I had an eye.” Rattazzi won photography prizes in boarding school and university; she says the awards were “something that kept me thinking I could do this.” She got her start in the late 1970s, working on fashion and portrait assignments for publications such as New York magazine, Redbook, and Vogue Italia. Rattazzi eventually tired of working in fashion and turned to her own projects, including Luna & Lola (2010), a photo book focused on the tender relationship between her two dogs.
