Randi Reiss-McCormack

Originally from Boston Massachusetts, I am an artist focused primarily on Painting, Printmaking and Mixed-Media works. After completing my undergraduate degree in Painting and Printmaking at Cornell University, I spent a year in Paris working in various Printmaking and Painting Studios until relocating to Baltimore to earn a graduate degree at The Maryland Institute, College of Art.

I currently live and work as an artist and adjunct professor in Maryland and I am the Associate Director of Sol Print Studio, a small artist’s press, focusing primarily with photopolymer etching. I have also been the Artist-in-Residence at the St. Francis Neighborhood Center in Baltimore Maryland for eight years.

I work in a wide range of images, sometimes recognizable and sometimes abstract. The world between the two is where most of my work resides. Narratives weave loosely through this process and working in a collage sensibility, images coalesce and collapse almost simultaneously. Currently I am very interested in the play between experiments in Printmaking and Painting and how they inform and influence each other.
