Raphael Zollinger
South African, born 1978

Raphael Zollinger’s conceptual art practice combines sculpture, photography, video, and interactive installation. Always aware of his audience and their collective culture, Zollinger aims to dismantle barriers between object and image, art and technology. Through his process, the artist seeks “to bridge the everyday and the political, connect history with the present, and in turn, blur the border between personal and collective memory.” His sculpture Welcome II (2006) was commissioned by his alma mater for the Pratt Institute Sculpture Park.
