Navajo artist R.C. Gorman’s artwork reflects the memory and experience of an ancient people that remains timeless and universal. The deceptively simple, lyrical lines of his drawings provoked the New York Times to title Gorman as “The Picasso of American Indian Art.” Gorman specialized in making lithographs, drawings, and bronzes. The artist passed away on November 5, 2005, at the age of 74.
