The British artist Rebecca Partridge paints sequences of photorealistic
landscapes and then uses a strict system to arrange
them according to time of day and geographical location. She
juxtaposes light and darkness, the expansive and the confining,
the clear and the blurred, and she methodically searches
for the triggers that stimulate resonances in viewers and activate
inner images. Neurosciences and animism, realism and
abstraction, handcraft and the flood of images are united into a
fascinating visual idiom that can serve as an archetype of our
time.
