Reyhan Mente
Reyhan Mente was born in Istanbul in 2000. She received training in graphic design and photography during high school. In 2019, she entered the Painting and Art Education Department at Marmara University. In 2020, she began taking photography classes from Lecturer Ufuk Duygun at Yıldız Technical University Faculty of Art and Design, shifting her creative process to this discipline. She has participated in various national and international group exhibitions. In 2023, she held her first solo exhibition, "Muamma," curated by Altan Bal, at the IFSAC Gallery.
Mente explores concepts such as uncertainty, existence, inner turmoil, and melancholy in her work, reconstructing these ideas through manipulation and deformation. The resulting fragments and distortions represent traces of the past, similar to the burdens transmitted through genetic inheritance. By combining the emotional impact of events with her feelings, Mente continues her work in darkroom, experimental, and conceptual photography in Istanbul.
