Biography

Rupprecht Geiger (born 1908 in Munich; died 2009 ibid.) was a German architect and sculptor and is one of the most important representatives of non-objective painting. After studying architecture at the Kunstgewerbeschule Munich, Geiger worked as an architect and was professor at the Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Characteristic for his works were simple geometric forms in bright, contrasting colours.
