Sachin George Sebastian

Sachin George Sebastian was born in Kanhangad, Kerala in 1985. He graduated from the National
Institute of Design in 2006 where he fell in love with the art of paper engineering. He started to work with pop-up books initially before he moved on to be an independent artist.
Sachin loves to build works entirely out of paper, though recently has also started working with other mediums. His primary subject has been the city / the metropolis – he is able to put the life of the city, the landscape, the chaos in his work; yet all of them coming together with a wonderful sense of harmony. His work shows many facets of the city – towering skyscrapers, telecom cable and even flowers and trees.
Sachin has already at this young age held a couple of significant solo shows, and has been a part of a
number of group shows in India and abroad. He received the FICA Emerging Artist Award in 2014; and the Kempinski Young Artist Award 2013.
