Sofia Magdits

Sofía Magdits Espinoza is an interdisciplinary Peruvian artist whose work spans various disciplines such as textiles, performance, installations, music, and video, with a particular focus on weaving. She combines and reimagines materials and elements to create new transcultural narratives that enable an exploration of humanity, its social bonds, and its environment, as well as the fragility of these three. An interest in participation and collaboration runs through her artistic practice. Relationships, community, and care, as well as nature, culture, tradition and craftsmanship are her main topics of research.
