SU Yi-Ting 蘇誼亭
Taiwanese, b. 1989
In Su's works, she employs fiber images and paintings as carriers, using them to convey images of urban landscapes. This enables her to recreate both blurred and clear visions of real life by repeatedly layering both temporal media and material elements of painting.
Viewers peruse the images and connect familiar landscapes to their own experiences, imagining the meanings and relationships within and outside the frame.
Her recent projects involve creating installations comprising paintings, fiber images, and photography to unfold the experiences of others and the artist herself. She developed a curiosity about the history of the city in which she resides, driven by its rapid transformation. She collects city ruins for field research. In addition to her independent research, she also studies the travel experiences of others to inform the textual components of her work. Through the perspectives of others, she gains insights into different interpretations of the same city landscapes.
