Todd Eberle FLOWERS (for Richard),
The National Exemplar

Photographer at large for Vanity Fair magazine since 1998, Todd Eberle was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and studied at the Cooper Union in New York. Eberle’s work blurs the margin between art and journalistic, representational photography. He first made his name with photographs of sculpture and furniture by the artist Donald Judd, and his work since has embraced subjects from flowers and portraits to landscapes. Eberle has particular affinity for architecture, a field he has examined in detailed abstract images, and in sweeping views such as those in his haunting portfolio of photographs of Brazil’s planned capital city, Brasília.
