British-born designer Tom Price likes to think of himself “as working in collaboration with materials, processes and phenomena, and that the final physical outcome is a product of mutual consent.” Price is known for his unique and sculptural pieces of furniture for the home, made from uncommon materials such as rope, plastic, and even discarded clothing, as well as his unconventional manufacturing processes like melting. Heating, bending, and sculpting are all integral parts of Price’s process, which combines whimsical play with solid design. His recent projects include architectural commissions, public sculptures, and limited-edition sculptural furniture.
