Valentino Fialdini is best known for his prolific output as a commercial photographer; in all his his projects, artistic or editorial, he exacts control of light and perspective. “I always try to emphasize the feeling of the space,” he says. Many of Fialdini’s series are based on his own travels, and feature both manmade and natural landscapes that emphasize either the depth or the flatness of a space. He is also known for constructing miniature architectural interiors—replete with columns, hallways, and windows—from commonplace objects, and photographing them such that they appear to be inhabitable places. This series includes models made with popsicle sticks, jigsaw puzzles, and Lego blocks.
