Van Hanos

Van Hanos is known for his wide-ranging and eclectic approach to painting, often defying categorization. He works across styles, from photorealistic portraiture to abstraction, creating compositions that explore perceptual shifts and psychological depth. His works invite viewers to look closely, as what appears straightforward at first glance often reveals layers of complexity and subtle surprises upon further inspection. Hanos holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA from the School of the Arts at Columbia University. His exhibitions include solo shows at Château Shatto in Los Angeles and Lisson Gallery in New York and London. His work is part of the permanent collection at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami.
