Vinnie Nylon
A graffiti artist who also produces street art, Vinny Nylon has become known for his chromatic works inspired by peace movements and subcultures including punk and skateboarding. Often drawing on references and imagery found throughout popular culture, Nylon is deeply interested in the consumer culture of the post-war era, including products, cartoons, toys and advertisements. Nylon’s oeuvre is characterized by vibrant colors and bold lines, as seen in works like Keef Bob – Turquoise (2019)—a mixed-media on wood rendering of a blue square-shaped figure that resembles the popular cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants. In addition to his paintings and drawings, Nylon explores the human face and figure by creating assemblage masks, dolls, pots, and vases. With an established collector base, Nylon has participated in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United Kingdom and Japan.
