Y Indra Wahyu N

Indonesian artist Y. Indra Wahyu is known for his fluid aesthetic and the use of fantastical and surrealist imagery that allows much room for interpretation. In his work, Y. Indra Wahyu manifests the power and energy of societal concerns through vivid colours and the melding of distinct strokes and styles. His work is mainly influenced by the period of political transition in Indonesia and his works which often depict the immaginary spheres of childhood reminiscences become a means for him to reconcile with the past and the future of Indonesia.

As an acclaimed artist, he has won numerous awards such as Best Watercolour and Sketch by the Faculty of Fine Art Yogyakarta (1998, 1999) and the 31st UOB Painting of the Year (2012).
