Yumiko (有美子)
Japanese
Graduated from Tama Art University. Yumiko worked at the Tama Art University's Visual Image Center for four years and is currently a part-time art teacher and a video production artist.
When she was 5 years old, she looked at the stars in the sky and felt very sad. Compared to the lifespan of a star, a human being can only live for a moment. She was sad because she thought that after we die, we will be forgotten by everyone and disappear completely. Even though she was only 5 years old, she decided to be a painter who could leave something behind even after death. However, now she does not have the same sadness about death that she had as a five-year-old. Because she has realized that whatever people do, those who worked hard at something will remain in someone's heart. She believes that she is now living with art as one of her philosophies to face herself and deepen her various thoughts by creating artworks.
In the future, she wants to focus more on production, participate in artist residencies, etc., and expand her activities, hoping to become an artist who can convey the wonder of art and help enrich the minds of many people.
Influences: Taro Okamoto, Yayoi Kusama, Hero Ito (her teacher at art prep school)
