Yuttana Chompupuen
Thai, b. 1983
Yuttana Chompupuen (b. 1983, Srisakate, Thailand) is a contemporary Thai artist whose work bridges surrealism and minimalism to evoke stillness, tranquility, and the quiet poetry of everyday life. Inspired by nature, personal memory, and imagination, Yuttana transforms simplicity into a refined visual language that resonates with calmness and introspection.
He studied Fine Arts at Ubon Ratchathani Vocational College before completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang, Bangkok. His early exposure to Japanese animation and childhood drawing competitions shaped his creative path, later refined through years of practice and self-discovery.
Yuttana’s paintings are meticulously crafted, often requiring weeks to complete, as he carefully balances composition, space, and narrative to create intimate, contemplative worlds. His works have been presented internationally, including art fairs in Chengdu China, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, San Francisco, Shenzhen China, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo. In 2022, he expanded his practice into illustration, contributing to publications in Korea.
Through his art, Yuttana invites viewers to pause, breathe, and experience the peaceful simplicity that lies beneath modern life’s complexities.
