Adam Ames, ‘Nepotism’, 2014, Children's Museum of the Arts Auction 2014

Estimated retail value: $3,000

For this series, Adam Ames wrote down some of his deepest secrets and most shameful thoughts, and obscured the text by crossing, erasing, or ripping out the words. He then photographed the paper, adding a further layer of distance from the original confessions, and leaving viewers to create meaning from the remaining elements.
