About Adam Saks

In his paintings and works on paper, Adam Saks offers a contemporary, mixed-media take on the traditional still life genre. In pop art fashion, Saks’s work is dense with cultural and political allusions that range from colonialism and comics to tattoos. Saks also makes use of typography and colorful geometric patterns. He applies acrylic, oil, and watercolor paint in large, gestural brushstrokes, synthesizing the resulting forms with precise linocut designs and figures. Thematically, he explores the relationship between the natural and the manmade. Saks lives and works in Berlin.
