After Andy Warhol, ‘CHANEL No. 5 (Set of 4 Separate Limited Edition Works on thin linen canvas backing)’, 1997, Alpha 137 Gallery

In superb condition with linen backing - makes a beautiful gift!
Andy Warhol's Ads portfolio was inspired by popular advertising campaigns and logos in contemporary American culture. The advertisements Warhol chose for this portfolio were not simply a means to sell products; they had become an integral part of American life and culture, featuring memorable and household-name products and celebrities. More than three decades on, the Ads portfolio illustrates how prescient Warhol was about success and longevity in corporate America. The Chanel No. 5 perfume bottle stood alone as a product synonymous with sophistication and luxury. Today, Chanel perfume remains a household name, just as it was during the Warhol era. In 1997, Chanel revisited the image, with the Warhol Foundation's permission, for use in an advertising campaign that year. Each print measures 28.3 x 22 inches and is mounted on a linen backing measuring 31.1 x 24.4 inches. These 4 prints were originally created by Warhol in 1987 for Chanel, and they later appeared on buses throughout Paris, France. The present four works are what remains from that Paris collection.
Measurements: 31.1 x 24.4 (each sheet)
It is not known how many remain today, but this gorgeous suite of four limited edition French vintage posters is considered very desirable, and sells at public auctions for around $4,000 USD - with the price expected to become notably higher as these become even more scarce.
