Akwetey Orraca-Tetteh (b. 1980, New York) is a Ghanaian and American artist based in New York. He is pulled by what he calls “the psychometry of visual language.” Within an immersive practice spanning 3D engineering, painting, and performance, the conceptual artist creates post-digital works that intimate the complexities and harmonic realities within an existential moment. Known to many as “AK”, the artist is compelled by fragmented mythologies that “converse ideas of emotive digital consciousness and transformative memory states.” An interdisciplinary collaborator, the artist has contributed to notable exhibitions at The New Museum, The Smithsonian-Hirshhorn Museum and the Museum of Modern Art.
