Alberto Biagetti and Laura Baldassari, ‘Anelli’, 2015, Secondome

About Alberto Biagetti and Laura Baldassari

Designer Alberto Biagetti and artist Laura Baldassari’s collaborations at Atelier Biagetti embody the concept of “the home as a domestic theatre.” The pair’s experimental furniture and interior objects, which are primarily made in Milan, privilege artisan work and natural materials. The “Bonjour Milàn” collection (2014) contrasts historical and contemporary materials, such as a table made from 20th-century hexagonal floor tiles and geometric brass legs. In the “Body Building” collection (2015), the duo reupholstered vintage gym equipment with calfskin, neoprene, and leather, bringing the activewear trend to furniture. Anelli is a neon light sculpture modeled on gymnastic rings; Cavallina reimagines the pommel horse as a cylindrical bench; and the Yoga carpet showcases court patterns marked with patchwork and tape.
