A luminous, central area of golden orange diffuses into an atmosphere of billowing light yellow above and a darkening horizon of red brown and green below in this four feet square acrylic canvas. Calligraphic lines, an invented glyphic language inscribed at the foot of the work lends mystery to the title, Sungate. The sun gate or Inti Punku is the entrance to the 15th century Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. This sun gate dedicated to the cult of the Sun god.
