About Alicia Framis
Alicia Framis is an interdisciplinary, interactive artist who uses architectural installations, video, sculpture, and performance to draw attention to certain unacknowledged experiences in contemporary urban life. Rather than creating finished works, her “projects” are organic experiences that encourage spectator interaction and raise questions about the way society is organized spatially, architecturally, and economically. In Bloodsushibank (2000), she famously built a rotating stage that served both as a blood bank and a functioning sushi bar.
