Series
Calendar series, that Alighiero Boetti began in 1974. Executed by excerpting numbers of days from traditional ephemeris calendar and glueing together to create single years, these works were planned to be made in a very limited number for each year, until his death in 1994. So the series is exceptionally limited. In contradictory terms with Boetti's conceptual practice, each Calendar is a unique hand-made work, that Alghiero used to give as a gift for a friend on each new year's eve. Some 'Calendar' works, demonstrating the combinatory practice in Alighiero Boetti's work, have been exhibited in a major Alighiero Boetti retrospective that took place in Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia by the title 'Alighiero Boetti, Estrategìa de juego' between 2011 and 2012.
