About Amy Lin

Lin draws dots in close proximity and creates compositions ranging from general organic forms to the specific diffraction patterns of crystals. From afar, and particularly in her larger works, Lin’s dots of varying size, with their open centers and colored outlines, unite to produce an illusory depth and, at times, sense of motion. Lin’s works function on both microcosmic and macrocosmic levels, with each dot functioning as a self-contained individual, yet also interacting with surrounding particles. In a world of heightened, yet narrow and superficial, connectivity, Lin considers her art to be life-affirming, as she places emphasis on the individual’s role within broader society.
