About Amy Weiskopf
Painter Amy Weiskopf is known for her carefully composed still lifes that use a light and tonal palette to create color harmonies in the manner of Giorgio Morandi. “Color can be used to make space and form but it can simultaneously be used to contradict space and form and highlight abstract shapes,” she has said. “Using color in all of its complexity is what I find most interesting.” Despite Weiskopf’s concerns with formal elements, her works are photorealistic, painted from arrangements she sometimes takes days to finalize.
