Ania Jaworska, ‘Soft Pavilion #1 (Stool)’, 2017, Chamber

Soft Pavilion’s form is unidentified and the use of the object unclear. Placed within the space of a room it simultaneously shares and contradicts the common traits of the well-known domestic objects. The Pavilion’s bold appearance contrasted with its soft structure and materiality provokes examination. An exaggerated cushion discloses itself as a highly comfortable seating that conforms to a person’s body. The furniture sets the stage for specific actions, arranges behaviors and defines new attitudes.
