Ann Laser, ‘Totem #26’, 2010, ViVO Contemporary

Artist Ann Laser has developed a series of contemporary totems which were inspired by the totem poles made by Native Americans in the northwestern part of the United States. Totem poles were used as a means of communication and were generally multilayered and vertically shaped. This shape and layered design were the inspiration for this abstract mondoprint on panel. This one of a kind monoprint on paper was created using oil bases inks. The sides of the panel are painted and the pieces is wired ready for hanging. The piece can be hung vertically or horizontally.
