Anne Hirondelle, ‘Re:Coil (Blue)’, 2008, Jeffrey Spahn Gallery

Anne Hirondelle has been one of our favorite artists for decades. Always innovating Anne’s work has gotten more and more simplified over the years. Her number one concern is good form and as such her work has timeless qualities that never tire or bore their lucky owners. Most recently Anne has been tackling the wall, creating forms which inhabit a space creating wonderful shadows and textures. Another artist focused on line, Anne has taken extruded tubes of clay into three-dimensional space as if they were lifted from the screen or page and enlivened with form. Anne has also started to paint her forms, taking license from Ken Price to challenge those taboos and present limitless modern colors.
