Anne McGrory, ‘Tiger Nautilus Sections’, 2016, Galerie d'Orsay

Working in pastels, oil and acrylic, Anne McGrory beautifully captures intimate still-lifes and idyllic New England landscapes reminiscent of her childhood. A New England painter, sculptor, illustrator, and jewelry designer, McGrory incorporates gold leaf into many of her works. While her landscapes are indebted to the poetic images of the Barbizon school, McGrory’s softly focused, atmospheric still-lifes recall the works of Anne Valayer-Coster.
