About Antoine Rose

After receiving his first camera at the age of 8 years old, self-taught photographer Antoine Rose developed an eye for the medium through his travels and time spent taking photos of professional water sports. Rose was the official photographer of the Kitesurfing World Cup for several years—capturing wide panoramas of the ocean and the beach—and in 2002, while shooting the competition in Rio de Janeiro, he began working on his most recent series, “Up in the Air.” He says of his adventurous practice, “Shooting from helicopters, all doors removed, 300 feet above the earth at 20 knots and getting tack sharp images that can be printed as large as 120 inches is quite a challenge.”
