Baron Von Fancy, ‘learning never exhausts the mind’, 2014, CMA: Benefit Auction 2017

Framed Dimensions: 19" x 23"

Baron Von Fancy
Observing the disappearance of hand-painted signs across New York, Baron Von Fancy combined his background in painting and design to revive and reinvent the craft with his witty, tongue-in-cheek aphoristic paintings. Von Fancy’s splashy sayings have been displayed on billboards, clothing, and design objects such as sponges, matchbooks, and doormats, his mischievous slogans linking nostalgia for signs of days past with a generation familiar with 120-character limits. Von Fancy has shown his work in a number of group and solo exhibitions, including Tripoli Gallery, Southampton, NY; Ochi Gallery, Sun Valley, ID; RH Gallery, New York, NY; 7Eleven Gallery, New York, NY; Islip Art Museum, Islip, NY; and The American Standard Gallery, Miami, FL.
