Bella Matveeva, ‘A Doll's House’, 2002, Rizzordi Art Foundation

Bella Matveeva is a Russian artist, photographer and theater director, Professor of Art within the Fine Art Section of New Academy of Fine Arts. She lives and works in St. Petersburg.
Bella Matveeva is widely recognized as one of the most important and influential artists in neo-academic art in St.Petersburg. She is also the author of the literary works Letters to Bella and Classical brothel aesthetics photo-series. In 1995 Bella Matveeva directed the ballet Leda and the Swan in collaboration with Sergey Vikharev.

Works by Bella Matveeva are exhibited in, among others, The State Russian Museum; Art Kiosk Gallery, Brussels; Pelin Gallery, Helsinki; Robinson Gardens, Los Angeles; Bella Casa Gallery, St. Petersburg; Art Museum of Avignon; Zimmerli Art Museum, New Jersey; Hwangi Art Museum, Seoul.
