Ben Fink Shapiro, ‘Sunrise Beach 2’, 2016, Public Art Fund 2018 Spring Benefit

A.P. 1 of 6

Ben Fink Shapiro is a visual storyteller whose photographs run the gamut from serene, to playfully erotic. While he first began shooting as a teenager in his hometown of Cincinnati, Shapiro's photography career launched after he assisted noted fashion photographers Miles Aldridge & Kenneth Willardt. Sunrise Beach 2 (Archival pigment print, 2016) distills the natural gradations of water until they are rendered Rothko-esque. Chronicling fashion and culture, he has produced campaigns for Brunello Cucinelli, Intermix and Sam Edelman while his editorial work has been published in American and British Vogue. Recent solo exhibitions include Mark Humphrey Gallery, Southampton (2015), and A+E Studios, NYC (2017).
