About Bernadette Corporation

Since its inception in 1994, the ever-changing roster of Bernadette Corporation’s members has produced events, a fashion line, exhibitions, zines, political films, conceptual art, epic poetry, and a novel, in addition to a range of small projects like posters and mugs. The three core members of Bernadette Corporation are Bernadette Van Huy, John Kesley, and Antek Walczak, though the organization’s individual participants prefers to remain anonymous; their reasoning is that “Living and making work in a matter that merges our subjectivities is a kind of disappearance of the individual.” Their aesthetic style varies from project to project—borrowing from such sources as street fashion, advertising, Hollywood, Dada, and grunge—but the spirit of socialy critique and grave humor remains constant.
