About Bonnie Edelman

Bonnie Edelman is best recognized for her “SCAPES” series, consisting of landscapes, seascapes, and skyscapes whose specific forms have been blurred in order to direct viewers’ focus toward colors and compositions. Sublime and abstract, the photographs capture grain fields, sea horizons, and sunsets from around the world. Edelman began her career as a photojournalist at such magazines as Seventeen, Rolling Stone, and eventually Sports Illustrated, where she served as the travel editor for the magazine’s annual Swimsuit Issue. Though these jobs allowed her to travel to tropical locations and closely work with photographers such as Sante D’Orazio, Russell James, and Francesco Scavullo, Edelman opted to start her own portrait studio and pursue her own creative photographic work.
