Brian Persico, ‘Nº 36 "Mongolian Horn Bow"’, 2015, Chamber

The second in a series of three bows, the “Mongolian Horn Bow” was fashioned in the style of bow used during the 13th century reign of Genghis Kahn and his flourishing Mongol Empire.

Short and wide with long, lightweight tips to enable a heavy arrow to accelerate quickly and efficiently, this particular type of bow would have been used by nomadic peoples for both hunting and war purposes.
