Bruno Zupan, ‘Manhattan at Night’, 2017, Galerie d'Orsay

A classic plein-air painter, Bruno Zupan travels the world in pursuit of light and capturing the variations of its beauty in locations that are most precious to him, including Mallorca, Venice, Paris, New York and Boston. The deep emotional relationship he has with the subjects he chooses to paint, from picturesque Venetian vistas to brilliant bouquets full of life, allows him a freedom of expression best described by reviewer Ed McCormack as “possessing the singular sensibility to strike such a perfect balance between surface and subject.” A highly celebrated artist around the world, he has been honored with lifetime membership fun the Society of French Artists, has shown his works in over 150 museums and galleries and included in major private and public collections.
