Cady Wells lived on an estate in Jacona, a small village in the Pojuaque Valley in Northern New Mexico. There were many farms nearby and Wells's work centers on what he saw there. During this period his works reflect the influence of the stained glass windows he admired, most notably at Chartres Cathedral in France.
