About Carlo di Carli

Experimenting with Italian furniture design and bringing it to an international market, Carlo Di Carli’s work focused on production and manufacturing of different Italian designs. He created the review Il Mobile Italiano as a way to provide documentation of the works by Italian designers and makers. His own artistic practice, influenced directly by his mentor Gio Ponti, employed traditional materials such as wood, glass, brass, and fabric to create beautifully sensuous forms and compositions that also doubled as useable furniture. Elegantly modern, Di Carli’s furniture was aesthetically pleasing as well as accessible to mass consumers.
