Serena with Pink Cap

Carole A. Feuerman is internationally recognized as one of the world’s most prominent hyperrealist sculptors. Her prolific career spans four decades. Having worked in resin, marble and bronze, Carole is proud to introduce, one of her best known images, “Serena”, in her first series of prints done in four color variations.

“Serena” used to be the name of the island of Venice. The original name of the sculpture the print is based upon is the “Survival of Serena” referring to Venice’s uncertain future. In this case, Serena is an ordinary woman very relaxed, calm, serene, but moreover being caught in the act of being herself. A position most would envy given the opportunity. Water is a signature style found in all of Carole’s works. It represents the bond all elements and organisms have as well as a bridge that connects us all.

About Carole A. Feuerman

A pioneer of hyperrealist sculpture, Carole Feuerman aims to create visual manifestations of the inner balance and beauty of women, though is perhaps best known for her large-scale sculptures of swimmers. “Swimming and water have fascinated me for as long as I can remember, and as a result, have become the essence of my inspiration for my pieces,” she has said. Feuerman has spent the last four decades sculpting monumental, life-sized, and miniature works in bronze, resin, and marble. Her labor-intensive sculptures involve working on the piece both in wax and bronze, later applying multiple coats of primer and paint in the foundry, and finishes in the studio.
