About Ceal Floyer

Berlin-based conceptual artist Ceal Floyer is known for her sculpture, installation, and sound works involving everyday objects and humble interventions. She memorably exhibited a cash register receipt for 49 all-white items (from cotton, wool, and crème fraîche to eggs and toothpaste) in Monochrome Till Receipt (1998), a domestic still life via Minimalist abstraction. Floyer's clarity of thought and the elegantly concise presentation of her ideas resonate through all areas of her practice, informed by her particular sense of humor and an awareness of the absurd.

British, b. 1968, Pakistan, based in Berlin, Germany
