Utilizing a bold sense of color, line, depth and abstraction, the varied works find commonalities in their composition and playfulness. Evoking ideas of physics, the geometric shapes in her work are arranged in a manner suggesting movement and animation.

About Cecilia Biagini

In her abstract photograms, paintings, and mixed-media sculptures, Cecilia Biagini alludes to music, improvisational dance, color synthesis, and scientific concepts such as equilibrium, oscillation, and repetition. “In a pursuit to balance transformative symbiotic processes, sculpture and painting exchange form and color into an infinite space of obliteration and reconfiguration of their forms,” she says. Her works, which range from sweeping gestural abstractions to delicate compositions of colored squares, draw on the visual language of Minimalism and Color Field Painting.
