About Chad Jensen

Deeply influenced by the sprawling industrial landscape of his hometown of Detroit, Chad Jensen became fascinated by materials and manufacturing at an early age, a passion that feeds into all of his work—fine furniture full of wit, art, and edge. As he describes: “The core principle of my work is to cross-pollinate fine art with design. I explore furniture as a more tactile and experiential art form that questions functionality and pushes the contextual boundaries of craft, material, and tradition, thus creating both unique physical and visual experiences.” This is apparent in pieces like Tippy Table (2009), a finely detailed, delicate wooden table, whose spindly legs seem as if they are about to tipsily stumble away from their precarious position holding up its round top.
