Starting in 1945 Charles Loupot began experimenting with geometric stylization of the iconic imagery of the two waiters, and continuous transformation of typography. He gradually moved towards more and more abstracted images. The colors and typography for St Raphael eventually became so recognizable to the French public that Loupot could play endlessly with them, constantly changing the shape and layout. This particular poster is a brilliant example of how Loupot experimented with letters and colors.
